Scioto Co., OH Anyone interested in a PROTEST??

Permission to CROSSPOST!! Due to the ILLEGAL removal of John Owens as Humane Agent in this county, we are considering a protest at the court house sometime during the next few weeks. The removal and the treatment of Owens was illegal in that he was not given 'due process' (No hearing regarding this at all!). We believe that Commissioner Crabtree overstepped his bounds in asking Judge Kirsch to remove Owens because he was pursuing a case against a relative of Crabtree's. This is not what commissioners should be doing here, folks!! Since Owens' removal, many animals have died needlessly in Scioto Co. and these deaths could have been prevented or justice sought for their murder and cruel treatment. Since the removal of John Owens from his position as Humane Agent, the cases of investigatable neglect, abuse and cruelty have sky-rocketed! There is no one here to investigate as they have all been told they can't do their job now. On July 31, 2007 a horse (involved in a case that was being investigated by Owens prior to his removal) was euthanized. The owners have been starving these horses since winter and the agents were told they could not pursue this!! This horse did not have to die. Another in the same field died last month due to starvation!! Is this acceptable behavior from any animal owner? Should we tolerate such interference from politicians and a judge? This is not a good county to live in if you are an animal!! No one will be permitted to speak for you if you are an animal. No one will be able to protect your life if

you are an animal. No one will be able to bring your abuser/murderer to justice if you are an animal. If you are interested in making your voice heard for the animals and to support Owens, please contact us directly. We will be planning a weekday protest in Portsmouth, OH at the County Court House but we have not set the date yet. We would like to know how many would be interested in speaking out against animal violence and neglect as well as the removal of an agent who did his job and had a 95% conviction rate, then email us and let us know.
