PLEASE FORWARD AND CROSSPOST TO ALL!! CONTACT INFO BELOW "Liz Nicholas.com (Info)" <info wrote: Folks...just wanted to float this out into the rescue community since I don't do domestic animal rescue only wildlife. I got a call about a month ago from this wonderful woman and her husband who has taken upon herself to tend to and feed a dog colony in Jackson County Georgia (Braselton area). She has contacted everyone she knows and a lot of internet rescue contacts and either has heard back from no one or has been turned down for help. Every day she goes and drops food

at a specific site for these homeless dogs. If you look at the picture of the one dog, you can see how very under weight this poor fellow is. She is not a rescuer, simply a compassion person who can't stand by to see these "cast off" animals suffer or starve. Please don't lecture her, or send her e-mails unless you are able to make some concrete suggestions on how she can help the. She feels so defeated already with the situation and it keeps getting worse. She called me yesterday to tell me she has finally gained enough trust in one of the male dogs to allow her to touch him and take his pictures. He's a sweet looking doggie and deserves a chance (look at his face and skinny hips!). She said they all look like mixes and most of them

are golden looking. The one rescue group she contacted in her area told her they were unable to help and are overwhelmed themselves. This like so many other stories, highlighting how animals are treated in some of the more rural areas of Georgia. It makes me very say. Roberta thinks that someone is going to need to dart them because she and her husband have tried to capture them in traps for months...they are way to smart to be trapped. Her fear now is that people are threatening to shoot them and with the population increasing, the situation is only going to get worse. Or they will get killed by cars because they are living in a bad situation at an abandoned property. She is a really good person trying to make up for some other selfish humans treatment of these animals. She is

looking for help from some rescue group as she starts to trap and catch them (or gets help in doing so). She needs some place for them to go (and perhaps someone willing to help her start a trapping and placement program). She is willing to pay for their vetting and food, if someone would be willing to help her start to get this pack under control. Can anyone out there help her????? I know this is a lot to ask, but she knows that they are either going to be killed or die desperately trying to survive. Worse case for all of us and them is they start breeding and their pups become wild. Every time she goes, another dog shows up. Its getting very desperate. Please call Roberta if you can offer her any help. Thanks, liz Roberta Matthews infol Monday, July 16, 2007 8:18 PM Liz, He is a sweet dog, and so is the girl dog.. I will
