Guest guest
Shambo is one of the sacred temple bulls belonging to the Hindu Skanda Vale Community of The Many Names of God in Wales. He has become a suspected carrier of bovine tuberculosis, and is threatened with slaughter. The community is devoted to caring for animals, being part of their spiritual practice. Many of the animals at Skanda Vale have been saved from slaughter. They hold all life as sacred, and the slaughter of Shambo would be a desecration of his life, the Skanda Vale Temples, and the Hindu religion. This is an unusual situation and permission can be given by DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) to treat and vaccinate Shambo, if he really does have TB, as the test is not completely accurate. You can sign the petition to save Shambo and visit his webcam here. Save Shambo
