Guest guest
" Rettet den Regenwald e.V. " <info Keep the Oil Under the Ground - Protect Ecuador's Yasuní National Park Dear friends, In April this year, Ecuador's President Rafael Correa declared: " I have a problem with the exploitation of an oil field in the middle of the Yasuní National Park, an Amazon region of great biodiversity and refuge for two indigenous groups which live in voluntary isolation. We are prepared to leave alone the Ishpingo-Tambococha-Tiputini (ITT) oil field. This is the solution preferred by the Ecuadorian government, provided that the international community and environmental organizations compensate us for at least 50 % of the profits which we will lose by leaving the oil under the ground. " For more than two decades, indigenous people have been fighting to stop oil exploitation and to save the rest of the tropical Amazon rainforest in Ecuador. Please, help by adding your signature to this email action. http://www.regenwald.org/international/englisch Please ask your friends and family if they might like to take part, too. Many thanks!
