Guest guest
Humane Society International Only a few days left to speak up for whales HELP WHALES NOW! 1. Write to Greenland and Denmark. Ask them to protect whales at the upcoming IWC meeting. https://community.hsus.org/campaign/Humpback_Denmark/ 2. Encourage your friends to take action. Let them know how they can help stop this slaughter on the seas. Learn more on our website: Save Whales--Not Whaling. All over the world people have been following the story of Delta and Dawn, two endangered humpback whales stranded in California's Port of Sacramento. The wounded mother and her calf have finally begun the long swim back to the Pacific and their annual migration route. But will they and the rest of their species be safe out in open waters? Both Japan and Greenland have proclaimed their intent to hunt humpback whales. These social, intelligent animals, renowned by whale watchers for their acrobatic leaps and approachability, would be shot with harpoons tipped with explosives. Because of their size and diving abilities, it's likely that these humpbacks would suffer a slow and painful death. Click here to tell Greenland not to hunt humpback whales. https://community.hsus.org/campaign/Humpback_Denmark/ Whaling is not humane. It is not economically justifiable, as the market for whale meat is shrinking. Whale meat has even been shown to be dangerous to humans due to contamination from pollutants. Yet pro-whaling nations are doing everything they can to start commercial whaling again. We need you to speak for whales. At the International Whaling Commission meeting next week, delegates from countries around the world will decide whether to allow the killing of more whales. We cannot let the pro-whaling nations win. Please take action today! Email Greenland and Denmark officials and ask them to vote to protect whales at the IWC. https://community.hsus.org/campaign/Humpback_Denmark/ Thanks for all you do for animals. Be sure to check http://www.protectwhales.org for regular updates from the IWC meeting. Sincerely, Andrew Rowan Chief Executive Officer Humane Society International
