My boyfriend and I just returned from visiting the Comfort Inn inMansfieldand it's "puppy sale." The only good thing to report is that it wasabsolutely dead - no one in the banquet hall except the idiot breedercrew.We took a look into the banquet room and were shocked. The puppies werecontained in tiny crates that seriously resembled incubators. Somecrateshad one pup in it, some had three. There were about 20 crates in all.Theyhad the nerve to charge admission. I was not able to see what theprice was.There were plenty of signs around the pups that read something like,"youcannot touch the puppies unless you plan on buying one." I was greeted at the door of the banquet room by another sign that readsomething about "for your protection we are taping due to the AnimalEnterprise Terrorism Act"....give me a break! Surely, there was a videopcamera sat up in the back of the room and I know it got me taking apictureof

it. Appalled, I proceeded to the front desk where Sandra Keiser (manager)sat.She is the woman I spoke with yesterday, and clearly it was in vain. Sheagain told me she saw nothing wrong with what these people are doing.Shemade sure to point out that her mother buys dogs from breeders anddoesn'tsee the problem. Clearly, I was getting nowhere with the lady. I thentookone of her cards and realised she is the one getting all of ouremails, andthat we need to contact Corporate Comfort Inn if we want any sort ofresponse. We were then confronted by the guy sitting at the admissions table tothebanquet

room. He asked what I was doing. I said I am documenting what istaking place at the hotel. He said he was going to call the police - Iwasintruding on his event. He proceeded to shut the doors. We left and again were confronted by one of the breeder crooniesfilming usand our car/license plate. He said we need to mind our own businessand knowthe law. Honestly, these dudes creeped the hell out of me. Why do thesegross backyard breeders always have that child molester look about them?Eck. I have seen a lot of shady crap in my day,
