Guest guest Posted May 14, 2007 Report Share Posted May 14, 2007 Hello Friends, After eight Asiatic Lions poaching in March-Apr07 Govt. of Gujarat and forest department has awakened. Very sincerer efforts are being made to revamp the whole system. Hon. CM Shri Narendra Modi himself is looking in to the problems in Gir and its solutions. He is also very much open to ideas from other NGOs and local public around Gir. Even a meeting between CM and NGOs+ villages was held as Sasan!! I think this is the most appropriate time to send suggestions from conservationists and nature lovers from all over the globe. Hence I am writing this email to you to have your comments and suggestions on present problems, future improvements needed in conservation of Gir and protection of Asiatic Lions or whatsoever that you may feel would help better conservation practice and management of Gir Wildlife Sanctuary. On receiving inputs from you all, I shall compile the list and forward it to CM. Please let me hear from you as soon as possible. Regards and thanks in advance.
