FROM A FRIEND IN TEXAS: They "Gas" the dogs when their time is up. There is one guy there that likes his gassing job wayyyyyyyyy too much and if there is ROOM FOR ONE MORE in the gas chamber...he'll just get another one that may or may not have time left on the hold. I know they are overwhelmed and understaffed. But, they should work better with rescue groups that are actually trying to find homes and foster homes for these dogs. I have fostered several that have come from this same shelter. They are SCARED TO DEATH most of the time. lindarollins38 (AT) comcast (DOT) net wrote: I jusy got off the phone with the city clerk of Kingsville. She said the Momma & remaining pups (3 have died so far-she thinks) are being rescued tomorrow. I initially offered to ship a crate, towels & blakets & send $$, and asked why they were left to lie on the bare concrete floor. She said that they had a box (HAD???), but it had to be removed to

clean the kennel. I told her that a lot of people were outraged to see them left like that, to die one by one, and her answer was that they were dying becasue she "had too many." grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.I told her that perhaps there would be less outrage if the picture showed that they has some type of protection...snarl........OK this is why people bite people.....--http://www.videosift.com/video/Shelter-Dog-Ad-David-Duchovny-narrateswww.betterthandead.petfinder.orgThere are a lot of people who are so afraid of dying that they end up afraid to live. So afraid of failure that they end up failing to try. It makes you ask the question, what's worse? Living an unlived life, or dying a well-lived one?I am a member of Rural Area Veterinary Services. NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO TOUCH THIS WITH A 10-FOOT POLE. CAN'T ONE OF THE RESCUES NEAR HOUSTON HELP? IT'S POSSIBLE TO RAI SE FUNDS FOR THIS GRO UP, BUT BEING SO FAR AWAY, NO ONE CAN TAKE THEM FROM THE AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG RESCUES STANDPOINT, *ALL* THE BABIES WOULD DIE ON A LONG TRANSPORT LIKE THAT. ALSO... WHY DO THESE BABIES ALWAYS LOOK WET? I NOTICED ONE WAS VERY WET IN THE FIRST GROUP OF PHOTOS. THEN 2 DIED. BABIES LOSE BODY HEAT VERY FAST WHEN WET (HUMAN BABIES TOO). THEY CAN'T CONTROL BODY

TEMP--THEIR BODY TEMP WILL DROP, THEN RISE TO A FEVER TO OVERCOMPENSATE.
