COMMUNITY THEATRE... The above title is of a Play that has only four performances at the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House... It is not anywhere near Broadway however it a quality play with melodrama and comic hilarity... a few Equity actors but it shows the "local talent" I think that there is a general demise of the community spirit in NYC... It has become alienated through the "gentrification" We are losing "our LOCAL TALENT... through over priced relentless and repetitive unimaginative tall and plain condo-mania community stripping pollution generating shed covering condo-conga lines;(See: The Arena" MNN production by yours truly ......extensive footage of the midtown west side condo conga line and the upper east side conga line next airing 4/27) channel 56 5:30pm) A typical half square block that has been raised for a lux condo and mall type "chain stores" on 86th street and Lexington Avenue I remember had a small coffee and donut stand for a quick java jolt befor the subway ride .. a pet store Pets on Lex a small market... a Uniform store a health club, a everything ten dollar store a retro diner a fabric store a fed ex store... THIS IS VARIETY ....DIVERSITY .....WHAT PEOPLE COME TO NEW YORK CITY FOR!!! the condo that is going up is fourteen stores of "lux. apartments at the top dollar... Where are the people going to get their quick coffee inexpensive dress their pet their shoes fixed a diner for casual dining??? this is what has been replaced with "luxury"???? Community isn't a luxury item it is NECESSARY WHERE IS THE COMMUNITY?
