Vernon Petland Protest" WHY PROTEST PETLAND? We all know that Petland is the number one buyer of puppy mill dogs. Petland gets 100% of ALL THEIR PUPPIES FROM PUPPY MILLS. Many of the puppies are sick with severe genetic problems. All of them are suffering from not being socialized which causes life long behavioral issues. Petland sells these puppies to the public for thousands of dollars more then they paid and tells you “the puppy came from a very good local breeder". We know that that is NEVER THE CASE. So we need to educate the public about where these puppies

come from and how the people can stop the "PETLAND MONSTER” TODAY! There are professional trainers who can tell within seconds of meeting a puppy for the first time if it came from a pet shop (puppy mill). That’s how mentally scared these little guys are. Together we can all stop the Petland Monster from profiting at the cost of others. The protest will start at 10:00 am and will run until 12:00 pm. Everyone is to bring their own signs, (signs with pictures of puppy mills would be GREAT). Everyone should bring there

own lawn chairs, drinks, snacks, a bullhorn if you have one - lol, and if possible please bring any dogs you've rescued from puppy mills. I'll bring flyers for us to pass out, but if you also have flyers you'd like to hand out, then all the better! The Petland is at 1005 Coshocton Ave in the plaza across from the Lowes Hardward store. We’ll all park over at the Lowe’s parking lot. If you're not familiar with Mt. Vernon I can give you more directions to the Lowe’s Store plaza. I have just learned that our local Petland is set to reopen on May 5th. I was hoping for some support from your group. I am trying to contact Jennifer with People Against Puppymills but have not heard back from her. I am trying (in vain) to organize a Grand Opening Day Protest. The first time they opened here we protested and had 20 people. At this time I only have 3 people. Would your group be willing to attend?

Mount Vernon is a small community and we get considerable attention when we have protested in the past. The people have been receptive to us and we have educated many. The Petland did close after 18 mos (approx) the last time and I hope we can get enough support to repeat that this time. Please let me know if you can help.
