Muses Prize will be announcing the winners of 1st Muses Prize - Film by April 2007. Who will be favored by the gods of Mount Olympus for the 1st Muses Prize - Film ? People might be wondering why I am mixing Poetry and Film in the Muses Prize. Why is the founder (Andrew Angus) mixing Poets and Actors in the Muses Prize? Is it possible to mix poets and actors in one prestigious event like the Muses Prize ? Well, I am not the first person to mix poetry and acting. It was actually William Shakespeare and some ancient Greek poet who mixed acting and poetry together. William Shakespeare used poetry in his stage plays. Actors used poetry in Shakespeare's famous plays. Yes, acting and poetry can go together!!!! Hence, I am mixing poets and actors together in the near future in a formal awarding ceremonies hopefully by the year 2009. Hopefully, it will be lavender carpet ceremonies. Muses Prize - Music will be launched in the near future....... Poetry is an art that is not well-understood by many people. I have seen many poetry contests and poetry journals. Some of these journals like the inferior, substandard and pretentious Kenyon Review rejected my poetry. I just laughed at these poetry journals who do not even understand poetry. So I decided to create my own online poetry journal, the Muses Review in November 2004. I started to post some quality poems and some experimental poems. I launched the 1st Muses Prize - Poetry also in 2004 and announced its first winners in 2005. Muses Review discovered many outstanding poets who will never be accepted by pretentious literary journals like the Kenyon Review. Muses Review discovered a poet who writes lyrical poems like Randy L. Redmond. Another outstanding poet who writes excellent sports poetry is Mark Stellinga. Another outstanding poet who wrote a poetic novel about surviving cancer is Pamela De Leon - Lewis. Another outstanding poet Muses Review discovered is Harry E. Gilleland Jr. who writes his short stories in poetic form. The Muses Prize will always be on the look out for new styles and traditional styles of poetry and outstanding rhymed or free verse. Muses Prize will also be on the look out for outstanding films. Hopefully, Muses Review and Muses Prize will be an artists organization to be reckoned with in the international artists community whether in the poetry community, film community, etc. So, if you want to help my vision of mixing poets and actors come true, don't forget to donate your poetrybooks and CD's DVD's to Muses Library. So, if you want to help my vision come true, don't forget to donate to Muses Academy of the Arts.
