Calls and Emails Needed Re Animal Cruelty Case in Lexington, VA

But since this one is within our geographic territory and perhaps we can help bring justice and I know a lot of you are involved in activism, I am forwarding it. The details are horrible. note this is not the first dog this man has killed. He has gotten away with it before.A horrific animal abuse case took place in Lexington, VA recently. According to the Rockbridge Weekly, Robert Carini was arrested after allegedly admitting to kicking and squeezing, a small Chihuahua mix, until its eye popped out, and it's skull was fractured. He pulled on both the upper and lower jaw at the same time until it's skull was fractured and pressed so hard that one eye popped out. He kicked the dog until it was covered with feces and urine and almost dead. The small dog was euthanized after being picked up by an ACO. Carini was arrested on a misdemeanor. After countless calls were made, those charges were dropped and he has now been arrested on felony animal cruelty charges. Please if you've ever wanted to help and make a difference, now is the time. The trial date for this has been set for March 30 in Rockbridge General District Court at 9:00AM.

andHere's what I've found out so far. This is only the preliminary trial. If it passes here, then it is turned over to the Grand Jury on May 7th. If it passes there, then they will set a trial date for this. I will let everyone know the final date.I think it would be best to save your trip (if you're traveling great distances) for the trial the Grand Jury sets. I'll be at both of them, but I only live an hour away. Unfortunately, this dog only got an assistant Commonwealth' s Attorney, his name is Mr. Muir. I sure hope he knows his business in this field. If any or all of you could find the time to write to Mr. Muir expressing your concerns and feelings and asking that he seek the maximum amount in this case it really does make a difference. I remember our Commonwealth' s Attorney telling me he could hardly keep up with all the calls and letters that were coming in when he was preparing for Mosby's trial. It drove him crazy, but it made

a huge difference. It takes public pressure to get them to take these matters seriously.
