The latest and worst horror so far that LAAS has perpetrated is the current GM's refusal to issue the kill list. The prior GM did not have that luxury, he was forced by the Board of Commissioners to issue it. The Board of Commissioners is supposed to issue

policy, and they are the only ones that are permitted to issue policy. Yet they allow the current GM to get away with not only refusing to obey policy, but the GM gets to set his own policy! The latest LAAS scheme, that the GM cooked up is that they get to put animals on the "red list", and they get to automatically slaughter all those animals after 7 days of being on the "red list". And the Board of Commissioners actually approved this horrid scheme. There is STILL NO KILL LIST being issued!!! And there obviously is NOT going to be a kill list, LAAS has gotten away with yet another atrocity, the current GM gets away with yet another sneaky attempt to keep from having the killing exposed, to keep animals from getting out alive, to be able to keep killing without anyone knowing. This way, LAAS gets to kill animals WITHOUT EVER GIVING ANY NOTICE

THAT THEY ARE GOING TO KILL THEM. They simply put ALL animals on the "green list", and the "red list"--the list has HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of animals on it, so NO ONE CAN TELL WHO IS TO BE KILLED NEXT. There is NO list telling anyone which animals are going to be killed, nor when. The kill list, which LAAS is SUPPOSED to issue, and which the previous GM DID ISSUE, but which the current GM REFUSES to issue, spelled out which animals were going to be killed the next day--IT TOLD YOU SPECIFICALLY WHO WAS GOING TO BE KILLED NEXT, AND IT GAVE EVERYONE 24 HOURS NOTICE, SO THAT THE DOOMED ANIMALS COULD BE RESCUED. The current LAAS scheme does NONE of that--there is NO WAY TO TELL WHO IS GOING TO BE KILLED, AND THERE IS NO NOTICE WHO IS GOING TO BE KILLED AND WHEN. So there is NO WAY to save the animals whom LAAS is killing! Below are the "red-listed" dogs that were killed

today at South LA pound--remember, this is only a small fraction of the animals that LAAS killed today. They killed cats at South LA, probably rabbits also. And they may have killed other dogs as well. And just imagine how many animals they killed at the 5 other LAAS pounds! They murdered so many angels yesterday too, the killers are totally out of control! And no wonder--no one restrains them from killing, they get away with it all. They are mass killing animals at the new North Central pound as well--that pound was supposed to be the promised land! The management of that pound loudly proclaimed that they don't kill animals anymore--yet they have been killing animals all along, and now they are mass killing, including and especially all the animals that have been there the longest, including ALL THE ANIMALS THAT WERE TRANSFERRED THERE FROM OTHER POUNDS, THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE, AND WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ADOPTED OUT! It is absolutely horrendouse, a holocaust of

unprecedented evil. And NO ONE KNOWS that the animals are being killed, or that they have been killed, since there is NO list, there is NO accountability from LAAS, either before or after the animals are killed. They get to NEVER have to list ANY animal that they kill--there is NO list of animals that are to be killed, and NO list of animals that have been killed. Slick, eh? Yes, another atrocity that the weak Board of Commissioners has permitted to be perpetrated upon the animals imprisoned and slaughtered by LAAS. The administration gets worse and worse all the time--one has to wonder how much they will be permitted to get away with before the public finally blows the whistle on them. And one of the worst injustices about this horrendous new LAAS scheme is that no one can save these animals even if they desperately want to, and even if they

manage to find out in time--LAAS has now fixed it so that NO ONE can put their names on animals any longer, NO ONE can have an animal held for 24 hours any longer to give them time to rescue. And LAAS will NOT refrain from killing any animals except "new hope partners" who may be able to make some kind of arrangement. NO, LAAS IS EVEN MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER THAT THEY BE PERMITTED TO KILL ALL THE ANIMALS THEY WANT TO KILL, WITH NO INTERFERENCE BY ANYONE WHO WANTS TO ADOPT OR SAVE THEM. And it makes no difference how EMPTY the pounds are, AND THEY ARE EMPTY, they kill all the animals on the red list, plus many on the green list, each day. And NO ONE KNOWS, there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY, NO "TRANSPARENCY", ONLY THE OPPOSITE--LIES, DECEIT, COVER-UP. The LAAS pounds are empty, South LA is emptier than it's ever been, yet they killed at least 8 dogs today, nearly killed another

one--and perhaps they killed even more. Why? BECAUSE THEY CAN, BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH IT, NOT FOR ANY OTHER REASON--THEY KILL, AND THEIR APOLOGISTS SHAMEFULLY EXCUSE THE KILLING AND BLAME IT ON SOMEONE ELSE! And all this mass murder of innocents is being perpetrated under everyone's nose, hidden in plain sight, while LAAS gets to pretend they are "no kill", and while they have the HUGE new North Central pound, and THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE OPENING UP 3 NEW POUNDS AT ANY MOMENT THIS MONTH! Yet all they do is kill! There is no let-up of the killing, LAAS is simply KILLING AS USUAL, KILLING AS ALWAYS, WITH NO END IN SIGHT, ONLY MORE KILLING. *****That is what LAAS wants more than anything, that is what the management want, and what they have always had--to be able to kill all the animals they want, without

interference by pesky rescuers or animal activists who don't want animals killed but want them adopted instead or want the chance to get animals rescued. LAAS DOES NOT WANT animals to get out alive. They allow a small token number to be pulled by their "new hope partners", knowing that the "new hope partners" are full and strapped for money and energy. Meanwhile, LAAS is happy in the fact that THEY GET TO KILL ALL THE REST OF THE ANIMALS--they don't want to be bothered with getting them adopted to all those MILLIONS of LA residents who would provide homes to ALL THE ANIMALS IN THE POUNDS, MANY TIMES OVER. No, LAAS adamantly insists on killing the vast majority of animals instead, as they have always done, and they will do ANYTHING to maintain their sadistic habit of slaughtering all the poor angels. Here are the poor angel dogs who were slaughtered by the South LA pound

today: A343296 Poor OSO was an Aussie Shepherd or German Shepherd who seems to have been dumped into the pound by his heartless owner. He was probably way younger than listed, Shepherds tend to get prematurely grey in their muzzles. He was such a great pet, he was allowed to live at the pound for nearly 2 months, but this poor angel was mercilessly slaughtered by the pound at 3:20 pm today--no one knew he was going to be killed, there was NO notice, he could not be saved--there was no time, no chance, which is how the pound wanted it. Oso means bear in Spanish, and this poor teddy bear should have had a loving home, living out his life. Instead, he's dead because of the evil of LAAS. My name is Oso and I am an unaltered male, tan and black Australian Shepherd mix. The shelter thinks I am about 6 years old. I have been at the shelter since Jan 07, 2007. _ A850645 Look at this dear little sweetheart. Poor precious Jojo was just a BABY, a PUPPY, with his whole life ahead of him. He was a stunning Dutch Shepherd, pure or mixed, so cute and sweet. But the horrendous, evil LAAS slaughterhouse sadistically killed him. He was at the South LA pound for a month and a half, he was a great dog, but of course LAAS made no attempt to get him

adopted, and they eagerly took his poor life, another tragedy perpetrated by the goons who get off on killing, a complete waste of another precious baby life. My name is Jojo and I am an unaltered male, brown brindle and white German Shepherd Dog mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year and 1 month old. I have been at the shelter since Jan 11, 2007. ________ A852160 What a gorgeous young angel poor Onie was. He was neutered already--he had obviously been a well cared for pet, someone's dog, like most of the animals in the pound. No attempt whatever is made to find their owners or to work with anyone in finding homes for the animals, LAAS prefers to kill them, and they will do so as long as they can get away with it. Poor Onie was obviously a sweetheart, and sensitive, so worried in the slaughterhouse, and with good reason. The poor angel no doubt knew that the vicious pound was determined to kill him. Now they have gotten their way, brutally massacring yet another innocent, totally adoptable angel. My name is Onie and I am a neutered male, tan and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier. shelter since Jan 21, 2007. ________ A852689 Look at this incredibly beautiful, unbelievably sweet and gentle angel. You can see she had such a loving personality and was so good natured. She was allowed to live in the slaughterhouse for over a month. But no matter how sweet, beautiful, young, adoptable an animal is, LAAS eagerly murders them--the slaughterhouse gets their way. LAAS will do ANYTHING to keep animals

from getting out alive. They lie, talk people out of adopting or rescuing, they make up nonsense about animals, they make up excuses. They are killers, and they simply want to keep killing, and they have gotten away with killing poor Sally. How can anyone make excuses for and believe the lies of monsters who mercilessly murder such a precious young angel as Sally? Unbelievable. Horrendous beyond words. What a little beauty she was, with her whole life ahead of her. She was obviously a great dog, she was allowed to live for a month in the pound, but they killed her in the end. She should have had a home, to live out her precious life, but the evil pound butchered her. Such a horrendous, monstrous deed. Don't let them get away with having killed this sweet, totally adoptable little princess. Another senseless tragedy, committed just so that the killers could indulge in their favorite activity, while their supporters let them get away with murder, constantly. Look how desperately he wanted to live, how gentle and sweet he was, how intelligent and soulful. A perfect pet, who would have made any adopter so happy. He could have had a perfect home, he was so beautiful and wonderful. And look at the heartbreak in his eyes--he obviously knew that

he was in a prison run by madmen and madwomen, bloodthirsty and intent upon mercilessly murdering all the angels. And poor Browny was indeed an angel, a treasure who did not deserve to die. How long will the evil mass murder of precious angels by uncontrolled savages be tolerated??? It's time for the killing to stop! Even though the photo is not the best, you can see he was petite and gorgeous, and in his soft eyes was the horror of knowing he was in a slaughterhouse, run by merciless killers. He was obviously so gentle and so worried in the slaughterhouse, with good reason. He was probably such a well behaved, good natured, sensitive young soul, one who would have been someone's best friend, such a fabulous pet. But of course his precious life was eagerly snuffed out by the monsters after not even allowing him to live for a month in the pound. This poor angel did not deserve to die--none of the precious animals do. But the killers keep getting away with it. Unbearable. My name is Mookie and I am an unaltered male,

brown brindle Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 1 month old. I have been at the shelter since Jan 30, 2007. ________ A855858 Poor little Sparky was such a cuddly teddy bear. You can see how sweet and sensitive he was, look at his worried expression. He appears to have been dumped by his uncaring owner, and he was devastated, but nothing anyone has ever

done to him can compare with the treachery of the slaughterhouse, which murders the precious angels. Poor Sparky was so beautiful, and in great shape, such a soulful baby, probably much younger than the age listed. He was given NO time to get adopted, nor even to begin to relax and settle in. No, the killers couldn't wait to do in poor Sparky. This poor young angel should have been re-homed, should have been able to live out his life, he was so young and vital. But the sadistic killers had their way yet again. My name is Sparky and I am an unaltered male, red and white Chow Chow and Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old. I have been at the shelter since Feb 15, 2007. These precious angels did not deserve to die, nor do any of the other animals that the bloodthirsty pounds continually kill. They get away

with the killing because everyone believes their lies--that there are too many animals, not enough homes, it's society's fault, it's bad owners, etc., etc. It's all rubbish. The truth is: There are at least 3 times as many homes adopting animals each year as there are total number of animals killed in the pounds in this country. Statistically, there are more than 3 times as many animals adopted from sources OTHER than the pounds each year in the U.S.--all the animals being killed in the pounds could get adopted at least 3 times over--there are plenty of homes available. The kill rate in the U.S. was the highest in the 1930's--35 million animals killed in the pounds per annum. By 10 years ago, it had decreased to about half that number--16 to 20 million killed in the pounds per year. By 2 years ago, the number animals killed annually in the pounds in the U.S. had dropped even more drastically to between 5 and

6 million, and the number keeps dropping incrementally by 1 million per year. Due to aggressive spay/neuter campaigns--yes, they work, and they have an EFFECT, and that effect is that there are very few animals left for the pounds to kill--the pounds are killing between 2 and 4 million animals per year. Those are the current statistics--if you find websites that put those numbers higher, the stats are out of date, many websites don't update their info for years. There are 168 million owned dogs and cats (that's not even counting other species of pets) in the U.S. How hard do you think it would be to get another 2 to 4 million animals adopted, in a country that is so willing to adopt so many animals? And 70% of the homes in the U.S. which own animals have only one animal and can easily adopt at least one more. There is NO shortage of homes! ALL the animals in the pounds could and should get adopted--and they WOULD get adopted if the pounds were not killing

them. There's NO excuse for the pounds killing any animals--there never was, but especially now that there are so few animals in the pounds, the killing should not be tolerated at all. The reason that the animals in the pounds do not get adopted is that the vast majority of the human population will not set foot in kill pounds, period. It makes no difference what incentives the volunteers and rescues use to try to lure people to the pounds, or how pretty the new buildings are, the killing in the pounds itself is what effectively keeps adopters away--it has always done so and it always will. Rescues cannot recycle every pet, not even close, they simply don't have the resources, and there are not enough rescues. The only way to get all the animals in the pound adopted is to adopt them directly to the public--there are MILLIONS of people in this city ready and eager to adopt animals, but first you have to STOP THE KILLING--then the adopters will come. The only way

to stop the killing is to stop the killing, at once--do not keep falling for the carrots dangled in front of you, the supposed incremental decreases, or a few days of purported no killing here and there, the negotiating with the killers, the promises of no kill at some future time. These are all a waste of time and energy. Instead, stop the killing--kick out the killers, demand that the killing stop NOW, period--it's long overdue. Write to all the politicians, Mayor Villaraigosa most of all, but also your city council person, the governor, your congress persons, hold rallies and demonstrations, protests. Get the killers out, put in their place leaders who refuse to kill, and then market the animals like mad, pull out all the stops and, as Nathan Winograd says, "your community will support you like never before." Don't make excuses for the pounds' killing, don't let them get away with it. Don't look the other way or condone

it just because it's institutionalized killing--it is horrendous mass murder, and there is NO excuse for any of it. You wouldn't tolerate the killing of even ONE animal if it were being done by an individual, so why would you tolerate the mass murder by the pounds? The people who run the pounds are public servants, make them accountable for their sadistic acts, kick them out. And don't buy their lies--they are in the business of SELLING DEATH--they have nothing else to offer except killing animals, and they sell you on it, convincing you that they are doing society a service by slaughtering precious pets, that the animals deserve to die, that there is something wrong with them either physically or behaviorally, that it's the animals' fault, that it's society's fault, that they have no room, that no one wants them, yada yada, etc. etc. Don't fall for it, these people are intent upon killing, and if you try to hold them accountable for it, they are

trained to try to justify it, to convince you that what they are doing is right and just and good, instead of the crime that it is. The mass murder would never be tolerated if it were done to humans, don't let the killers get away with it just because it is being perpetrated on other species. The continual mass murder of precious trusting, loving companion animals is the worst atrocity in this society. Demand that it end now. I want to be writing pleas for the animals, not obituaries. But as long as the slaughter continues, it must be exposed, until it is finally stopped. And that obviously requires a complete change of regime in LAAS, there is no other way, since those in the leadership positions of the pound are intent on continuing and even increasing their wanton killing. STOP THESE ATROCITIES! DON'T TOLERATE THE KILLING ANY LONGER, AND DON'T BUY THE EMPTY PROMISES, SPIN, LIES AND NONSENSE. DEMAND THE END TO THE KILLING
