Do it now... Dear Friend, High up on the top deck of the Greenpeace ship Esperanza is the campaign office, where I spend much of my day. From here I can see the ocean, the icebergs and listen to the activity on the bridge. I can keep in touch with exactly what the Esperanza is doing. From the same spot, with my laptop, I can also see what is happening across the oceans, as you campaign together with us. From where I sit both views look amazing to me. Today I saw how many people just like you are calling and emailing the Danish embassies everywhere. I am here in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary with the rest of the Esperanza crew to stop the Japanese government whaling fleet from killing 945 whales. The actions of Greenpeace supporters like you are an inspiration to all of us here on board. But we can do more and I am writing to ask for your support again. Denmark supported commercial whaling at the last International Whaling Commission (IWC) meeting -- we believe against the wishes of the majority of its population -- and is now attending a pro-whaling meeting in Tokyo. The Danish government needs to hear from all of us, in Denmark and around the world! They need to know that their position is not acceptable and we need to convince them to support the whales and not the whalers. Support Magrite's campaign #5837: Think of a present that says "Please don't support whaling" that we can bring to Danish Embassies on February 21st. It should be something we can physically bring, or send as a photo by email. Post your idea on what that gift be! We only have until the 18th! Greenpeace will support the best proposal and promote it on a global scale for worldwide visits to Danish Embassies on February 21st. Remember Magrite is an I-GO volunteer campaigner. Your campaign could be supported as well! You'll find all the information you need on Magrite's campaign on our I-GO Site. Don't worry: if you don't have a new idea, you can also improve or comment on other peoples' ideas and campaigns. Either way, keep campaigning. The Japanese fleet and the Danish bureaucrats do not want any of us to take action... but the whales do! Kind regards, SARA HOLDEN Greenpeace International Communications From the Esperanza P.S. Remember we are supporting Magrite as a volunteer campaigner, you can be one too! Start your own campaign today! Join the Biggest Crew Ever! P.P.S. You can save whales.
