Guest guest
Permission to CROSSPOST!! T This is pretty important stuff for the animals who are usually left without a safety net and end up destroyed because no one knew they were there and no one knows what to do in an emergency. This will allow the local DNR and facilities/authorities to know that these owners possess these animals so they can also keep track of them.... The Humane Society of the United States is trying to get a bill in Indiana to have owners notify DNR or the local law enforcement agency of ownership, depending upon the type of animal they own. People that already have these animals would be able to keep them, but not be able to acquire more. Read the bill at http://www.in.gov/legislative/bills/2007/IN/IN0482.1.html This is a step forward to control wild animals that are kept as "pets", and pose a serious threat to Indiana communities. I have attached a copy of an endorsement form that I urge you fill out and fax to the HSUS it is in a PDF file and in a Text file format. Please take a minute to fill it out and fax it in. The hearing in the house may be scheduled as soon as Wed. Jan 29th, 2007. Please pass this email and endorsement on to others that may support this legislation. If you have any questions please contact me at the NAFC Animal Control and Shelter (812) 948-5355. My cell phone number is 502 376-8430.
