Prop. 90's far-reaching provisions allow virtually anyone to sue claiming a new law or regulation has impacted the value of their property or business, no matter how far-fetched the claim. We urge California voters to protect wildlife and the environment by saying “No” to Prop. 90. Visit the www.noprop90.com Web site for more information. Colorado: Yes on Amendment 38The citizens of Colorado have

historically faced major obstacles when trying to petition their government for change. The Petition Rights Amendment (Amendment 38) seeks to reverse that trend and enable Coloradans to have a more active role in shaping their democracy. Petitioning has led to successful passage of ballot initiatives in Colorado to outlaw inhumane steel-jaw leghold traps, and prohibit cruel and unsporting trophy hunting practices such as hound hunting and baiting of bears Amendment 38 seeks to strengthen the petition process by: simplifying the procedure for petitioning, reducing petty technicalities for rejecting valid petition signatures, and ensuring a more uniform petition process across the state. We urge voters to support Amendment 38. Visit the Citizens for Petition Rights Web site for more information. Florida: No on Amendment 3Due to the recent success of citizen's initiatives by several social movements, including animal welfare advocates, some forces in the Florida state legislature want to make it nearly impossible for voters to continue to participate in the ballot initiative process. Some Florida legislators want to curtail the rights of citizens to amend their own state constitution. The legislature has put a measure, Amendment 3, on the 2006 ballot that would increase the number of votes needed to approve ballot initiatives from 50% to 60%—a "supermajority"—of the electorate. We urge voters to vote no on Amendment 3 and help preserve the rights of Florida citizens. Visit the Trust the Voters Web site for more information. Michigan: No on Proposal 3The mourning dove, the state’s official bird of peace, has been protected in Michigan since 1905. But Proposal 3 would allow the target shooting of doves for the first time in 100 years. The Committee to Keep Doves Protected is working to defeat Proposal 3 and to continue Michigan's 100-year tradition of protecting mourning doves. There is no good reason to shoot these inoffensive backyard songbirds. Doves are not overpopulated. They are not harmful to people, property, or crops. Doves are so small that they’re not shot for food. There are already 40 game bird species in Michigan and there’s no reason to add doves. It has been Michigan’s tradition to protect mourning doves since 1905, and there’s no reason to change that now. By voting no on Proposal 3, you'll help ensure that Michigan’s mourning doves are not shot for target practice. Visit the Committe to Keep Doves Protected Web site for more information. Portland, Oregon: Yes on 26-80 for Natural Areas, Parks and Streams More than one million people are expected to move into Portland and its surrounding area in the next 25 years, and we may lose valuable wildlife habitat if we don't act quickly. Bond measure 26-80 will purchase carefully identified land and ensure the safety of wildlife for years to come. Protected by open space preserved on all purchased lands, Portland's wildlife will find the city's metropolitan area to be a true safe haven. We urge all voters in the Portland metropolitan area (Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties) to support bond measure

26-80 by voting yes on November 7. Visit the Protect Natural Areas Web site for more information. Vote for the animals: http://www.fund.org/voter-guide-2006/ Sponsored LinkMortgage rates near historic lows: $150,000 loan as low as $579/mo. Intro-*Terms Patricia Breen www.petstorecruelty.org
