Zip code is 63077 Posted by: "nooneskeeper" nooneskeeper nooneskeeper Jake the Hero - back at the pound. Poor Jake saved a lady's life, and now he's back at the pound with us.Jake came to the pound several months ago as an owner turn in. His owner said he was a Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix, though by the looks of him its hard to believe. He was not an easy dog to place, since he didnt show well in his pen. He would bark and posture a lot, but he managed to win the heart of a lady who took him in to "foster" and rehome.Jake came back and its really a sad story. He had been placed in 4 or 5 different homes and somehow made it back to St Clair. The last home he ended up in he saved the lady's life. She had overdosed on her insulin and blacked out on the kitchen floor. Her husband said Jake came into the living room and was throughing a fit. He was barking and running a round. He said he ran into the kitchen so he followed him and found his wife laying on the kitchen floor. He said he hated to get rid of him after all that but Jake was just to much for him to handle. The pound is unfortunantly a high kill facility. Even if we hold him until someone adopts him he is taking MUCH NEEDED cage space and it puts others at risk.
