One fact that Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall might find particularly relevant is that a recent study found that 96 percent of offenders who had engaged in bestiality also admitted to sexual assaults on humans. The accused is Wayne Allen Dean, 38, of Three Points, Arizona. His charges follow authorities' apparent February 8 discovery that Otis had been burned, bitten, maimed, and sexually abused. Otis was evidently found to be suffering from fresh and old cigarette burns, and his tail had apparently been cut off. According to news

sources, his left ear had a human-inflicted bite wound on it. Otis was evidently euthanized in light of his condition. Please graciously remind LaWall that the safety of her community's human and nonhuman residents alike may well be in her hands.
