Guest guest
Charismatic Aussie wildlife champion Steve Irwin was tragically killed on Monday. Not by a croc, gator, snake or spider, but freakishly by the normally placid stingray. Maybe his luck just ran out. His boyish, very hands-on enthusiasm was fantastic, and his affection for fearsome crocs, calling them " mate " and " darling " , was endearing. I get sick and tired of a lot of other vacuous TV personalities who offer nothing to this world, who will no doubt live to be 100 and accumulate a lot of money. Steve's loss is a desperate loss for all of us who care about wildlife, particularly the persecuted creatures like crocodiles, alligators, snakes and spiders. I cried at hearing of Steve's death. Not just for Steve, his family and friends, but for the whole damn world. - Paul Rance/Green Vibrations founder. " I have no fear of losing my life - if I have to save a koala or a crocodile or a kangaroo or a snake, mate, I will save it.
