Guest guest
America is at an important crossroads in deciding what direction to take our national energy policy. Unfortunately, legislation pending in the Senate right now will lead us down the wrong path. The Senate energy bill prolongs our dependence on foreign oil, wastes tax payer money to subsidize big energy companies, and opens the door for drilling in Western Arctic Alaska and other wild lands. We need your help to make sure this legislation does not pass. Debate on the energy bill begins this week, so your Senators need to hear from you now! At a time when consumers are paying high prices for oil and natural gas, and our country is increasing its dependence on oil imports from the most unstable regions in the world, the United States needs bold leadership from the Senate by adopting 21st century clean energy policies. We need a national energy policy that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil, increase our use of homegrown clean energy, require reductions in global warming pollution, and improve energy efficiency. The Senate energy bill falls short in every one of these critical areas. The Senate intends to spend up to two weeks debating the energy bill, and we need your help to demand a clean, safe, affordable energy future.
