JOIN US FOR CHAIN OFF 2004!How Can You Get Involved?

Saturday & Sunday, July 3-4, 2004 is our Second Annual Chain Off. Please join us in your town or community!

1. Chain Off Update2. Please Hang Flyers!3. Paper Chain4. Come to PA Chain Off!5. Posters based on Snowball1. The Chain Off is progressing as scheduled here in PA. Terri Bunge and Amy Smith have all the permissions in place for the three locations in which Iwill be chained. Wonderful job and kudos to them for all their hard work! We will be using Chloe's old doghouse, (she's still looking for a homehttp://www.dogsdeservebetter.com/adopt.html), and we have an old chain. I will be wearing Sid's old collar, which had to be washed five times to getthe stench out (unbearable!).We are taking video of the chain off, and are looking for a way to do a live webcam. If anyone can help with that or knows a company who would help us orsponsor us for it, please get back with me asap!We also need a way to play video

of chained dogs the whole time we're there, without access to electric outlets. If only we had a FaunaVision van! Sincewe don't, any ideas for how to do that? We've had interest from people in other areas to chain themselves in conjunction with me, but I've as of yet had no firm 'yes' from anyone. If you indeed will be doing so, please let us know asap!Link to the Chain Off page for more info:http://www.dogsdeservebetter.com/chainoff2004.html2. Please hang flyers for our 'doggie makeover' contest! It is crucial that we get the word out about this contest, and if it gets a lot of dogs off chains for EVEN ONE DAY, it's worth it. This contest is for all those whostill keep their dogs chained and penned pictures either via e-mail or regular mail, and we will choose the bestphotos for a

prize of $250.00.Here's the link for the flyers, please hang or pass them out asap. (It's in acrobat format, so it may take a minute to open your acrobat.)http://www.dogsdeservebetter.com/chainoff%202004.pdf3. Local volunteers in PA have been working on creating a 2004 link red/white/blue paper chain for our Chain Off event. When it's finished next week, we will take photos with some of the dogs and the chain and use it as a visual for the media, and also use the chain as a visual at the national event. Every $1 donated will break a link of that chain! More on this next week...4. Come to the PA National Chain Off Event! The more people we have there supporting our efforts, the better it will be for this cause. The first day we'll be located near Snowball, a white dog who's lived chained for 15years, at Hi-Way Pizza North, at 1688 North Atherton Street, St. College, PA. For more info, e-mail us.5. Based on our thoughts after speaking to Snowball's 'caretakers', the generational aspect of chaining totally hit home for us. We couldn't resist creating another poster using Snowballs sad doggie face, and sporting the saying: "Your Grandfather did it; Your Father did it; isn't it Time to Break the Chain?"To view/order: http://www.dogsdeservebetter.com/2004%20posters.htmlKeep envisioning success this week for our mission! This Chain Off is a way to bring the plight of the chained dogs to the attention of the nation, andthe more of us who pull together, the faster our organization can put itself out of business! Thanks,TammyTammy Sneath Grimes, FounderDogs Deserve Better: No Chains!First
