Save A Dog & Kids

wildtimber2112 @ aol.com [wildtimber2112] Thursday, May 13, 2004 1:36 PM***IDA-NYC*** 'Miracle Dog' Needs Your Help! His name is Quentin, and he's one lucky dog. Not many would have thought so after Quentin, a 30-pound Besenji mix, was placed into a St. Louis gas chamber last August. But when the death chamber doors opened again, Quentin greeted animal-control workers with his tail and tongue both wagging. Quentin - named for the San Quentin State Prison - beat the odds, and thankfully folks at the shelter didn't have the heart to put him back into the gas chamber. In time he was adopted by Randy Grim, the founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Grim wanted to make sure that Quentin's "bad days are behind him for

good." And with that thought in mind, took Quentin's story public. After hearing his story, In Defense of Animals asked Quentin to be their "spokesdog" in our campaign to educate the public about the plight of millions of dogs facing death in shelters. And soon he and Randy be here in NYC to take a bite out of the Big Apple! Quentin, Randy and their new side-kick Itchy (who weighs in at a whopping 5-lbs!) are coming to NYC on May 20 to appear at the big Adoption and Pet Care Festival on Animal Guardian Day in Central Park on May 23 and to help launch a public awareness campaign geared toward encouraging adoption of 'unwanted' animals with bus ads in all five boroughs throughout the entire month of June. The ads are sponsored by IDA & Stray Rescue of St. Louis with the support of the Mayor's Alliance for Animals, NYC Animal Care & Control and Rational Animal. BUT we need YOUR help! Sadly, we are having some last minute

difficulties with the hotel we'd arranged to accommodate the heroic trio and may need a place for them to stay. If anyone has 'extra' space, or knows of possible accommodations they could make use of during their May 20-24 visit, please contact me at this address

( LCL @ idausa.org ) (remove 2 spaces) or Valerie Sicignano at: " valerie @ idausa.org " (remove 2 spaces) so that we can assist with making arrangements. NOTE: We also need tablers for the May 23rd event! Come meet Quentin, Randy & Itchy and spend a beautiful day in the park! Contact me or Valerie for details... Thanks so much for all your help!
