ASK ALABAMA DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO PROSECUTE INTERNET DOG DEALER: According to allegations made by dozens of complainants to The HSUS and others, puppy dealer Barbara Bach has been defrauding consumersand hurting animals by selling sick puppies over the Internet. In recent years, reports having been piling up of seriously ill and underage puppies being shipped from Barbara Bach to unwitting buyersas far away as New York and California. While the local SPCA is investigating Ms. Bach for numerous animal cruelty complaints, The HSUS has asked the DeKalb County District sheriff's office to pursueallegations of fraud and theft against Ms. Bach as well, in violation of Alabama's Theft of Property Law at 13A-8-2, and Unlawful TradePractices at 8-19-5.WHAT YOU CAN DO: Please send your (polite) letters to District Attorney Michael O'Dell and urge his office to fully investigate and pursue fraud and theft charges against Barbara Bach. Let them know that people care aboutanimals and do not want to see the cruel business of selling sick dogs over the internet continue.
