U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft on Tuesday(Aug 19) begins

a nationwide campaign especially in Ohio, Michigan and

Pennsylvania States to defend the anti-terrorism law-Patriot Act.

Ashcroft was kicking off the month-long effort. He will be traveling

to more than a dozen cities and on TVs to try to drum up support

for the USA Patriot Act. Ashcroft's speech marked the start of a

campaign-style offensive aimed at countering criticism from leading

Democrats and civil liberties advocates about the Patriot Act.
