Camp Fire USA was listed as sponsor of musher Land in Iditarod

The Sled Dog Action Coalition verifies the Iditarod involvement of all the

promoters listed in its alerts. If an organization denies involvement, please

contact us for the facts.

 

On November 5, 2002, the Sled Dog Action Coalition wrote to the CEO of Camp

Fire USA about the organization being listed as a sponsor of Karen Land on

the Iditarod musher sponsor page. The CEO never responded.

 

On January 24, 2003, after receiving protest emails, Camp Fire USA finally

contacted the Sled Dog Action Coalition. We referred them again to the

Iditarod website musher sponsor page and to their listing as a sponsor of

musher Karen Land. Very late in the afternoon on January 24, 2003, the

Iditarod administration removed Camp Fire USA from its Iditarod musher

sponsor page.
