Guest guest
***PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY*** Please join concerned citizens from across the delaware valley to express your outrage at retailers who continue to hawk the products of one of the most barbaric industries in history. The Friday after Thanksgiving is traditionally the biggest shopping day of the year and is now celebrated as Fur Free Friday (www.furfreefriday.com) and Buy Nothing Day (www.adbusters.org/campaigns/bnd/) by activists across the globe. It also falls on the day before the three year anniversary of the historic anti-WTO protests in Seattle...so come remind everyone why we choose to place life over corporate greed! Over 30 million animals are brutally killed by anal electrocution, gassing, neck breaking, and other methods on fur farms every year. An additional 10 million animals suffer and die in leghold traps, which have been banned in 88 countries, but not the US, despite the fact that polls have shown 74% of the American public in favor of such a ban. Depending on the species of animal, it could take anywhere from 30 to 100 animal skins to make one fur coat. Come let the largest Philadelphia furrier and his customers know that you won't stand for it any longer! Signs and literature will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own as well.
