ANIMAL CRUELTY - UPCOMING CONFERENCE IN SPAIN

At this time, there are no laws in Spain protecting defenseless

animals from cruel and violent actions against them. No regulation or

control over current practices that cause unncessary animal

suffering, such as public events or spectacles, scientific research

or food production, and the hideous tradition of torturing and

hanging thousands of dogs (Spanish Galgos) at the end of the hunting

season. Most people cannot even bear to look at the horrifying

pictures or read the stories, due to their atrocious nature. Imagine

what it must be like for the victims who are suffering and cannot

speak for themselves.

 

This has got to stop!

 

Many concerned organizations in Spain are fighting for the rights of

these animals to be protected

by law, but these laws must be changed before this can happen. You

can help by adding your name to the list of supporters in their most

recent effort. No money is required. No spam will show up in your

mailbox. They are fighting a very difficult battle and need to show

worldwide support to put these changes into effect.

Beginning this November, 2002, Barcelona will focus the attention of

the whole country concerning

the problems of animal protection. The axis of this event will be the

International Conference on

Animal Protection in Spain, to be held on the 7th, 8th and 9th day of

November 2002, at the

headquarters of the University of Barcelona.
