LIVE EXPORTS - ROAD TO HELL CAMPAIGN UPDATE After a break of two weeks, the live exporters rolled into action once again with shipments on Friday and Saturday. What appeared to be a new vessel, the ALDA K, arrived to transport 3000 terrified animals across the Channel to Europe. On closer inspection we discovered that the 'new' vessel was none other than the notorious Kalipha-1. Exporter Thomas Lomas is behind this new enterprise and the ship is owned by well-known animal abuser Richard Otley, the ship's name was presumably changed because Mr Otley has been banned from exporting animals from Ireland and had some problems in the past with New Zealand police. Otley is a leading figure in the Woodland Pychley Foxhounds. He has at least one conviction for animal cruelty and was involved in live export disputes in the past including one where 274 sheep were left stranded in a French harbour for 12 days after Otley could not pay the harbour fees. Once again. LE Jones were they key transporters supplying 6 truckloads of lambs. Trefor Jones, Director of LE Jones has been known to put up the funding for Otley's live exports in the past. PLEASE JOIN OUR 7 DAY PHONE/FAX BLOCKADE OF LE JONES - LE JONES IS A MAJOR PLAYER IN THE LIVE EXPORT TRADE - IF THEY PULL OUT, LIVE EXPORTS WOULD BE MUCH MORE DIFFICULT FOR THE LIKES OTLEY AND LOMAS. 01824 704533 fax; 01824 704397 THERE WILL ALSO BE A DEMO AT LE JONES MAIN DEPOT AT BRICKFIELD LANE, DENBIGH ROAD, RUTHIN, CLYWD, WALES ON 11TH NOVEMBER 2002 FROM 8.30AM PLEASE ARRANGE MINI-BUSES AND CAR SHARES CALL US ON 0845 4560284 IF YOU COULD OFFER OR NEED LIFTS.
