URGENT, SAVE THE WHALES NOW.(8/9/2001)

Dear Caring friend,

The Whaling Ban survived this year at the IWC meeting.

Thanks for your great help, the RMS was not voted this year.

Next year IWC meeting will be held in Tokyo, Japan, which

is a notoriously killing the whales and dolphins country.

Japan just returned last Tuesday with 159 whales from

Northern Pacific Ocean. The kills doubled . Japan's total kills this

past year is nearly 700 whales. Whales are in the dangerous bad

shape now. Even the PETA launched the controversial, distasteful

" Eat Whales " campaign. Poor whales !

Japan's Vote-buying to the poor countries continues. If not being

stopped now, the resumption of the commercial whaling may really

become the FACT next year in Tokyo meeting. It will be too late

to save the whales .

This email is very important. Please also pass to your friends,

relatives and members. Please let's all CALL AND

WRITE TO ALL OF THE CONTACTS BELOW.

The Sample letter and all Contact information are enclosed .

Thanks so much for your caring, compassion and urgent help

for whales plight.

=========================================

SAMPLE LETTER :

(you may write your own letter if you wish. )

(NOTE: Please include all of the important References in your letter .

Please place your Name, Address and Constituent at the beginning

and the end of the letter to get better results. ).

FROM: Your Name,

Your Address,

City, State, Zip,

U.S. Constituent

SUBJECT: PLEASE SAVE THE WHALES NOW.

Dear Mr. President ,

I am urgently requesting you to :

1: Impose Trade Sanctions against Japanese whaling.

2: Oppose the dangerous RMS(Revised Management Scheme).

3: Please Condemn the Japanese Vote-Buying and its continuing bribing.

4: Please ignore the White House Council on Environmental Quality's

secret RMS agenda.

Japanese whaling fleet just returned from a two month voyage to the

northern Pacific Ocean, with 159 whales killed after it killed 440 whales

previously in April, 2001 from the Southern Ocean Sanctuary, an

internationally protected whale " Sanctuary " located in Antarctica.

The size of catch was almost double the number of whales Japan caught

last year when it killed 88 in North Pacific Ocean. For the year ended

in July , Japan killed nearly 700 whales. (see Reference # 1 )

The Whaling Ban survived this year at the IWC meeting which just ended

on July 27. Next year IWC meeting will be held in Japan, which is a

notoriously killing the whales and dolphins country and its insanity to

lead the world towards Commercial Whaling . (see Reference # 2 )

Greenpeace expressed outrage at Japan's decision to vote against a

proposal to protect the critically endangered Western North Pacific Gray

whales, of which there are believed to be less than 100 left. Japan was

the only country to vote against it. In other words, Japan wants to kill

ALL WHALES ! (see References # 3 )

Japanese newest excuses to kill whales is that whales eat too much .

" That's like blaming woodpeckers for deforestation, " " Whales and fish

survived in balance in the oceans for millions of years in huge numbers.

What depleted whales was the large commercial whaling that Japan wants

to start up again, and what has depleted the fisheries is overfishing and

mismanagement. " said Greenpeace.

Japanese vote buying is continuing targeting the poor countries. Without

immediately stopping this vicious bribing, the IWC whaling ban could be

lifted next year in Tokyo !

Time is very urgent to save the whales more than ever .

As your concerned Constituents, we want the Administration to take solid,

determining actions now instead of empty bluffing like the Clinton

Administration did before. The empty bluffing proved a complete failure.

It only increases more of Japanese killing, more of the vote-buying,

more of the bribing everywhere, and more of the countries vote for

commercial whaling in IWC. Therefore, I'm strongly requesting you,

PLEASE :

1: Impose Trade Sanctions urgently before the resumption of the World

Commercial Whaling in next IWC meeting in Tokyo in May , 2002.

2: Oppose the RMS (Revised Management Scheme). It is a plan to

formally legalize and resume the Commercial whaling and discard

the Whaling ban completely. In no time, it will go for large scale

of the commercial whaling to kill ALL whales.

(please review References # 4 )

3: Please Condemn the Japanese VOTE-BUYING :

The Japanese government is packing the IWC with delegates from

developing countries who are being promised Overseas Development

Aid money IF they vote in favour of commercial whaling. This year

Japan did not succeed in getting the votes required to overturn the

1986 whaling moratorium. However, unless this vote buying is urgently

countered, Japan is likely to succeed next year.

The government of New Zealand has already made a clear public

statement condemning Japanese vote buying. I urge US Government also

make a strong public statement to condemn the Japanese Vote-Buying.

4: Please ignore and oppose the President's Council on Environmental

Quality 's secret RMS(Revised Management Scheme) agenda.

The Council echoed last year the contention of World Wildlife Fund(WWF)

executives that " the RMS would act as a " safety net " and protect whales

from " over-exploitation " in the subseqent resurgent global commercial

hunt

that its ratification would create " .

The fact is that RMS will work as the stepping stone towards the

large scale of commercial whaling worldwide in no time if it were

approved.

Approval of the RMS would be an irreversible step toward the return of an

industry that has all but destroyed the world's whales. (see Reference #

4).

While the Greenpeace, Sea Shepherd and many other environmental

groups oppose the RMS, the WWF seemingly already accepted the

resumption of the Commercial whaling . The WWF cries for whales

on the surface, but the bottom line is that it actually pushes for

Commercial

whaling agenda. In the recent interview with BBC, the WWF had used

all excuses to push for " RMS " towards commercial whaling.

WWF shamefully stated that

" Uncontrolled hunting of minke whales could start as early as next year "

(see Reference # 5 )

The background of WWF :

WWF was founded in 1961 by trophy hunter Sir Peter Scott and

cronies, among them captive bird-shooters Prince Philip of Britain and

Prince Bernhardt of The Netherlands, the Whaler Aristotle Onassis.

and then-National Rifle Association President C.R. " Pink " Gutermuth.

WWF has successfully courted Government agencies. WWF has

annual budget of 80 millions US dollars, one of the highest in the world.

Animal protection donors , who contribute 46 % of WWF annual

revenue, are appalled to find out about WWF support of sport hunting.

On November 10, 1998, WWF stated that " WWF is not opposed to the

killing of seals in principle. " WWF was also instrumental in repealing

the U.S. " dolphin-safe " tuna standard in 1997, after a multi-year effort,

replacing it with a standard which allows tuna fishers to kill as many

as 5,000 dolphins per year. WWF holds that wildlife should pay for

itself. It falsely calls this " sustainable use " , an " eco-friendly " cover

for the notion that animals should be killed by the highest bidder !

(see References 6 )

With WWF's huge influence to the US Government, many experts

have long been suspecting that WWF could be one of the major targets

for Japanese whaling industry too just like they did to many target

countries in the Caribbean islands for vote-buying in IWC .

Whales are not a commodity. They are not to be killed and sold.

They are not ours, or anyone else's, for the taking. Sea Shepherd

Conservation Society stated that " there has never been such a thing

as a sustainable commercial whale hunt. There is no such thing as a

humane whale hunt. " . Even the former whaler decries the killing of

great whales is a very cruel 'blood money' . The wounded

harpooned whales take many hours to be chased and slow death in

excruciating pain. The cruelty is beyond imagination.

(see References # 7 )

The bloody, barbaric Commercial Whaling is totally, completely

NOT acceptable to the modern world. Please save the whales

before it is too late. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Your Address,
