2: Please impose major trade sanctions on Japanese whaling.

4: Please urge all IWC Representatives to oppose RMS(Revised

Management Scheme) in all of IWC meetings starting from July 23.2001.

 

 

On June 26, 2001, the US House introduced the Whaling Resolution :

H. Con Res 180 from Congressman William Delahunt(D-MA),

Wayne Gilchest (R-MD), George Miller (D-CA) and Chris Smith (R-NJ).

A Senate version of the Whaling Resolution, S Con Res 121, was also

introduced on June 28, 2001 by Senator John Kerry (D-MA).

On June 28, 2001, the United States Senate with ALL Parties strong

support sent a letter to President Bush to urge him to take tough

actions against Japanese whaling on the eve of Japanese prime minister

visiting President Bush.(June 30, 2001).

 

On June 26, 2001, the Poll shows a wide majority of American voters are

opposed to commercial whaling by Japan and Norway . 83 percent of

American voter were opposed to the killing of whales. Republican pollster

Fred Steeper of Market Strategies, Inc. conducted the survey in May.

Steeper said : " What impressed me is that the results cut across age,

gender, regional and party lines. They cut across all major demographic

groups - Democrats and Republicans. "

 

Despite a worldwide ban on commercial whaling, Japan and Norway

both are killing 1000 whales a year. Japan not only kills massive number

of whales under disguise of the " scientific whaling " IWC loophole

but also it is bribing many of the other countries to kill whales.

Norway simply ignores the moratorium imposed by the International

Whaling Commission (IWC) in 1986. Both countries are currently

greatly killing whales, Japan in the northwest Pacific Ocean and

Norway in the northern Atlantic. Japan is also world's biggest killer

on dolphins. (see Refererence # 11 )

 

On June 30, while the anti Japanese whaling actions going on from U.S.

Congress, Japan suddenly released a story while its Prime Minister

just arrived in U.S. saying that US Serviceman raped one Japanese

woman in Okinawa. The US Serviceman denied any wrong doings and

insisted that he had consensual sex with the woman. (see Reference # 8)

 

Many intelligent analysts suspected the shameless Japanese Whaling

industry had purposely " set the trap " for the U.S. seviceman in the

attempt to embarrass the United States while US Congress accusing

Japan's sadistic, ruthless whaling activities and further to " silent " the

US objection and interference on Japanese attempt to legalize the

World Commercial Whaling in this coming IWC meeting just a

few days from now !

 

Japan is now using " ALL OUT EFFORTS " to send all its Government

top officials to the United States to strengthen the " relationship " with

the US on the surface, right before the IWC meeting on July 23-27.

 

Many intelligent Americans predicted the Japanese whaling industry's

" spy " network had far reaching influences. Japan had spent more

than 70 million dollars in Caribbean Island countries in the attempt to

bring them to IWC to vote in Japanese favor to legalize the World

Commercial whaling . They now are bribing and buying the countries

in Africa too! Many countries will join IWC to vote for commerical

whaling due to Japanese government continuous bribing and threatening.

Many concerned Americans have been suspecting that the Japanese

whaling industry's " Money " bribing have already reached many

of the major U.S. media in the attempt to " silent " US media on Japanese

cruel whaling issues.

 

Japanese Government has been historically cruel to all living beings.

Its barbaric sadistic whaling behavior has reminded us the Japanese

killing madness in World War II only 60 some years ago. Japanese

soldiers were raping, killing in many of the Asian countries. For

example, Japan killed more than " 32 millions " of Chinese " Civilians "

from 1931 till 1945 with the most unimaginable cruel ways to kill.

It was Chiang Kai-Shek and his weak National Party(Kaomingdon)

in power then. The Japanese government continues to deny its Atrocity.

Now, again, the Japanese government is committing another kind of big

Atrocity in the world on the fragile whales despite the international

outcry and plea! As an U.S. Constituent, we urgently request you to:

 

1: CO-SPONSOR: H. CON. RES 180 , the whaling resolution now.

2: Urge President Bush impose major Trade Sanctions: Without sanctions,

the US is in fact financially supporting Japan to kill whales.

3: Please urge all of IWC Representatives to strongly oppose RMS

(Revised Management Scheme) in next and all of the IWC meetings.

Because RMS will effectively end the 16-year global moratorium

on Commercial Whaling. (see Reference # 10 )

4: Please provide the most important " POLICING POWER " to protect

vulnerable whales in the un-protected oceans. Without the " policing

power " , Japanese government continues to kill massive number of

whales even in the Antarctic Southern Ocean designated

" Whale Sanctuary " area ! They just returned in April, 2001 with the

killing of 440 whales from Sanctuary. Japan is stealing the Oceans

from all of the other countries for their own private sadistic use.
