Guest guest
URGENT, STOP JAPAN WHALING NOW. PART 3 Dear Caring Friend , Your voice and plea is heard now in the US government. On May 14, 2001, the Bush administration sharply criticized Japan for expanding whaling program that seeks to kill scores of internationally protected whales in the name of research. To see article , please click : http://www.newyorktimes.com/ (then enter 2 Search words : Japan whaling , then hit enter key, then click " go to article " under " U.S. Presses Japan to Cancel Plan to Kill Whales " . Japan warned to retaliate : http://dailynews./h/nm/20010515/pl/japan_whaling_dc_1.html Now, let's send this important feedback loud and clear to the Bush Administration. The KEY POINTS in your letter and ALL OF THE CONTACT INFO follow for your convenience. Thanks. ======================================== The KEY POINTS IN THE LETTER ARE : (Please merge our key points in your letter or you may write your own letter, if you choose to. thanks.) (note: the Subject line is very important if you send Email. you must express your purpose on the Subject line clearly.) SUBJECT: PLS IMPOSE TOUGHEST TRADE SANCTIONS AGAINST JAPAN WHALING. 1: Please express deep thanks to President Bush and US State Department to stand up to " warn " Japan to stop killing whales. 2: Please IMPOSE TOUGHEST TRADE SANCTIONS AGAINST JAPAN . Please impose sanction on all of the Japanese Automobiles and Food products. U.S. has no fear of Japanese complaint or revenge. The reasons are : a: First of all, Japan is an island country. Japan needs to export to US desperately far more than the US needs to export to Japan. The Japanese want " exports " more than its " filing complaint to the WTO " . b: Secondly, almost the whole world is against Japan now on whaling especially the bigger countries. Therefore, Japan's filing to WTO does not make any sense. c: Thirdly, the sanctions on Japan could be an excellent way to balance the Trade deficit with Japan. In other words, the US is giving big money to Japan to kill whales if toughest sanctions does not impose on Japanese whaling ! However, if the sanction is too light, it will make no real material sense, the Japanese will have no fear at all and they will continue to kill. The Clinton administration had made mistake after mistake on the Japanese whaling issue. They were too soft and useless plus former Vice President Gore " brokered " millions of dollars missiles deal with Norway and he had since promoting the whaling secretly behind to match the Norwegian and Japanese commercial whaling attempts. 3: The IWC (International Whaling Commission) has no policing power. It does not have the capability to enforce its moratorium on whaling. The IWC knows its " scientific whaling " loopholes and it does not even have the ability to correct its sickened rules for all these years ! Japan lately actively, shamefully " buying " the tiny island countries to become IWC members in the attempts to influence IWC voting results. We urge the US Government to invite UK, France, Germany, Australia and other anti-whaling countries to form a real enforcement entity which has the " policing " power to stop whales killing on the world oceans. 4: Sperm whales, Bryde's whales, and even Minkes whale are all defined ENDANGERED under the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). In 1983 Minke whales were included in Appendix I of the CITES. In other words, the Japanese and Norway each are killing 700 endangered whales this year. Combined is more than a thousand whales a year. Please, let's face it , how many " thousands' whales can be killed ? It will wipe out all whale species in no time if whaling continues. To impose toughest sanctions is absolutely necessary and urgent ! 5: The international " oceans " belong to all countries on the globe. They do not belong to Japan or Norway alone. However, Japan and Norway steal the oceans from all of the other countries for their own selfish, cruel, inhumane, barbaric, bloodshed use. They are stealing the " oceans " from all of the other countries as the extension of their own land. This behavior has reminded us the Japanese invasion in world war II just 60 years ago. Millions of people were killed worldwide. 6: The United States must resume its anti-whaling leadership position in the world ! Please lead the world against the evil " whaling " activities. PLEASE IMPOSE THE TOUGHEST TRADE SANCTIONS AGAINST JAPAN NOW. Thank you . Sincerely, Name, Address, City, State, U.S. Constituent(s), (if you live in U.S.) Country. (if you don't live in U.S.) P.S.: Enclosed a documentary photo on the cruel Japanese fishery industry's annual Drive Kill from October to April on thousands of dolphins : http://www.earthtrust.org/drivekills.html (*** Letter ends *** ) - At the end of each of your letter, please sign your Name, Address and City, State and Country.
