Dear Friend of animals ,

 

Norwegian whale blubber prices soared nearly 60,000 percent this week

following a controversial decision to allow exports to Japan in defiance

of an international trade ban. (You may click :

The following Key Points, Important Advice and Contact Information

are the very important second part of our campaign to stop Japanese

unrelenting killing of great whales and dolphins ! Please, lets all pay

attention on this right now while Japan just rushed out to kill and the

new Prime Minister has just taken office .

 

We urge you to send EXPRESS MAIL to the new Japanese

Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. Please also send EXPRESS MAILS

to all of other Cabinet members if you can , especially the Environment ,

Agriculture & Fishery, Foreign and Health Ministers. However,

if you can't , then your ordinary mail would also counts and have some

power. The Email is the least effective way to get your message to the

Prime Minster right now.

 

BE POLITE AT ALL TIMES IN YOUR LETTER !!! Now, you

are going to be an important citizen ambassador to Japan to express your

KEY POINTS IN THE LETTER TO JAPAN :

 

 

SUBJECT : PLEASE STOP KILLING WHALES AND DOLPHINS.

 

1: First , we congratulate Prime Minister for his important new job

working towards the peace, humanity and harmony for the people of

Japan and the world.

 

2: We are strongly requesting Japan to stop killing hundreds of whales

and thousands of dolphins each year , immediately.

 

3: With the IWC loophole for " scientific research " , all whale meat

ends up in the commercial meat market and high priced Japanese

restaurants.

 

4: With a busy killing schedule, Japan went out again on May 11, 2001

to Northern Pacific to kill another 160 more whales (including endangered

Byrde and Sperm Whales) despite the international repeated strong protest

and warning ! Japan is killing a total of nearly 700 whales a year right

now. The explosive harpoons are fired into the stomach of whales.

Videos show whales " Thrashing in bloody water " in excruciating pain

for more than 20 minutes before dying..

 

Japan is also the world biggest killer of Dolphins. Each year from

Oct. to end of April is Japanese killing dolphin season.

Japan is steadily hunting its coastal cetacean populations to extinction.

By 1995, a single species -- Dall's porpoise -- was being taken at a rate

of 17,000 per year. Hundreds of boats are licensed to kill.

Each time, numerous terrified gentle dolphins screamed as the Japanese

fishermen clubbed and speared them alive on the beaches and shallows.

Japanese fishery industry has severely depleted, in sequence, populations

of striped dolphins, pilot whales, beaked whales, and Dall's porpoise.

5: We also request Japanese Government to stop using " money " bait to

lure the Caribbean island countries to manipulate the voting results in

IWC. Please stop your government from using " aid and bribing " to

other countries to vote against any humane proposal in any meeting.

6: We are also strongly requesting Japanese Government to stop importing

" Whale meat and blubber " from Norway. Because your buying from them

is encouraging the Norwegians to cruelly kill even more whales. They are

killing more than 700 whales a year. Please, do NOT encourage killers.

Not only Norwegian's whale meat contains high level of PCB which is

extremely harmful to human's health but also Norway is not your " trusting "

friend either. Norway lost its final attempt at reviving international

whale trade on April 20, 2001 CITES meeting. However, Norwegian

whale blubber prices soared nearly 60,000 percent this week in the

expectation to export its whale blubber to Japan in defiance of an

international trade ban.

If Norway can cheat Global moratorium by IWC and disobey a global

ban on commercial whale under the Convention on International Trade in

Endangered Species(CITES) , they will eventually cheat on Japan too.

How could you trust someone or a country who cheat so much ?

 

 

7: Please urgently help your " whaling " villages to change their cruel

way of living by helping them to develop " Whale Watching " business

as done successfully in many other countries and turning the killer

industry into Environmentally responsible communities and industries.

The Whale Watching not only is ethical without bloodshed but also is

a booming business. The two nations that do most of the killing of whales

in the world are Japan and Norway. Japan's whale killing produces an

annual income of about US$36 million. Norway's killing produces about

US$5 million dollars a year. The worldwide income from wholesale sales

of whale meat is approximately US$41 million dollars a year.

But whale watching is a much bigger industry with an income of over

US$500 million a year worldwide, and it is continuing to grow strongly

while the global community is advancing towards modern computer age

and towards more humanity and environmental sensitivity and

sustainability. (see Reference # 3 )

 

 

8: The poll results indicate that the people of Japan no longer consider

whaling to be an integral part of their cultural heritage, nor do they

support it . It also shows that majority of Japanese do not consider

whale meat to be an important part of their diet . (see Reference # 4 ).

 

Fish and all sea food including whales meat contain toxic chemicals at

concentrations as high as 9 million times those found in the polluted

water in which they swim. Mercury found in sea food can cause brain

damage. Pesticides, such as DDT, PCBs, and dioxin, have been linked

to ancers, nervous system disorders, fetal damage, and many other

health problems. (Please refer Reference # 5 )

 

However, we do not encourage Japan to eat more beef , pork, lamb,

chicken either. Because they are the causes of Heart diseases, Cancers,

Diabetes and Strokes due to its high saturated fat and high cholesterol

contents which also found in whale's meat too. The best diet today is

Fruits, Vegetables, Beans and Grains all plant based diet .

9: If Japan continues its cruel killing on whales and dolphins, we will

have no choice but to stop buying any of the Japanese made products,

especially Japanese new cars , Japanese electronic products, cameras,

Japanese foods. We will also stop visiting your country for pleasure

because people do not go to a bloody place for relaxing and pleasure.

We will also inform all of our friends, relatives, all members and

local media on the cruelty of Japanese people, especially your fishery

industry and its barbarity, immorality and irresponsibility to the welfare

of marine mammals.

 

 

10: Japan is one of the world leaders. Japan has the duty and

responsibility to help the world towards the Humanity and Morality

not just to help the third world countries but also to help the

numerous sentient desperate animals that are either over exploited or

endangered, especially the whales and dolphins.

Prime Minister Koizumi had just delivered his first Policy Speech at

151st Session of the Diet on May 7th , 2001 and said

" Japan must fulfill a constructive role as a member of the global

community. " We appreciate Prime Minister's words and hope

Prime Minister can lead Japan to be responsible for his promises to

the world community.

 

 

11: Whales and dolphins are adored by the world community and

they are most important in the entire ecosystems of the globe.

The oceans belong to the the entire global community , it does not belong

to Japan or Norway alone . The precious oceans must be cherished ,

loved, protected by every country on the globe. It is our most concerns

when the oceans become the horrible, crying, blood splashing sea.

Whale mothers hug their babies tight screaming desperately while your

harpoon cruelly shooting at them ....
