A: TALKING POINTS IN YOUR LETTER :

 

* The FDA must require mandatory pre-market comprehensive

environmental review. Unlike conventional pollutants,

where a given amount of pollutant causes a limited amount

of damage, a small number of mutant genes could have a

population explosion and reproduce forever, causing

unlimited and irreparable damage. The Genetic Engineered

Bovine Growth Hormone treated dairy products could cause

variety kinds of cancers and diabetes according many studies

and medical reports.

 

* The references on the BGH hormone treated growth hormone

on all of the dairy products could cause cancers. BGH is

Genetically Engineered growth hormone. Some references

including BGH growth hormone treated on all of the dairy products.

Without mandatory labeling, neither consumers nor health

professionals will know if an allergic or toxic or carcinogen reaction

was the result of a genetically engineered food. Consumers

would be deprived of the critical knowledge needed to hold

food producers liable should any of these novel products

be hazardous.

 

* The FDA must END its corrupted, cozy relationship with the

industries it purports to be regulating. People have been allowed to

work for a biotech company, then work for the FDA writing the

regulatory rules on that company's product, then go back to

working for the company. Ninety-two percent of FDA advisory

committee meetings had at least one conflict of interest.

Dear FDA,

 

I am extremely concerned that the Food and Drug

Administration (FDA) has proposed regulations that still

fail to require labels on genetically engineered (GE) food.

 

I'm seriously requesting FDA to LABEL CLEARLY for

all of the GENETIC ENGINEERED foods including

all of the genetic engineered BOVINE GROWTH HORMONE

(BGH) treated DAIRY PRODUCTS .

 

Labels on GE foods are required in Japan, Russia, and

throughout Europe, yet your new proposal continues to

deny Americans the right to know what is in our food.

 

Labels must be required to protect the public from potential

health effects that could only be traced if GE foods can be

identified, yet FDA?s " voluntary labeling " guidelines will

leave thousands of unlabeled GE foods on our supermarket

shelves.

 

Doctors and scientists have warned about the potential for

GE foods to trigger dangerous allergies, change the

nutritional value of foods, and cause irreversible harm to

the environment.

 

Furthermore, the Genetically Engineered Bovine Growth Hormone

on all of the dairy products is highly possible to cause variety kinds

of

Cancers according to many new research reports.(Pls see References

below.)

 

Please, FDA must require all of the dairy products treated with Genetic

Engineered BGH hormone be clearly Labeled on all dairy containers !

 

FDA appears to be playing politics with our food, disregarding

science-based precautions that other countries have implemented.

 

The FDA must end its corrupted, cozy relationship with the

industries it purports to be regulating. People have been allowed to

work for a biotech company, (for example: Monsanto Company)

then work for the FDA writing the regulatory rules on that

company's product , then go back to working for the company.

Ninety-two percent of FDA advisory committee meetings had

at least one conflict of interest according to many investigations.

 

I urge FDA to END the conflict interest relationship with the

biotech company completely. I urge FDA to insure that ALL

GENETIC ENGINEERING FOODS BE CLEARLY LABELED

including all of the genetic engineered BGH growth hormone treated

dairy products.
