Guest guest
Re: Followup to the test breedings being done by the AMCA- Alaskan Malamute Club of America Letters to club officers and board of directors to stop the test breedings are needed. Their email addresses are listed at http://hometown.aol.com/amcahome/officers.htm People may want to write the board members/officers who live closest to them and/or the president Tracy Young. Letters to superintendents & owners of facilities hosting the malamute club's specialty shows would also bring attention to the problem and perhaps, draw media interest. Specialities put on by the club and their regional affiliates begin by 8 or 9 am and run through the early afternoon. The schedule and location of the AMCA affiliated shows are as follows: ** indicates very large shows 2/15/01 Denver, CO. Natl. Western Stock Show Bldg. 3/3/01 West Allis, WI Wisconsin State Fairgrounds 3/14/01 Lousville, KY Kentucky Fair & Expo Center ** 3/16/01 Louisville, KY Kentucky Fair & Expo ** Research fund raiser 4/13/01 Harrisburg, PA PA Farm Show Complex ** 4/14/01 Harrisburg, PA PA Farm Show Complex ** 4/21/01 Leesburg, VA Morven Park Equestrian Center 5/10/01 Alburquerque NM NM State Fairgrounds 5/??/01 Woodland, CA N.CAL specialty- date/location TBA The Westminister KC show is FEB 12-13 at Madison Square Garden. This is *not* an affiliated AMCA event, but malamutes are entered and the event is covered by the media. For those who would like to read more about the testbreedings and why we oppose them, please see http://www.snowlion.web.com For more info about the research group that is doing the test breedings, see http://amrf.clarityconnect.com Note: they are busy altering the web site and the latest change is claiming the test pups died after a difficult c-section; not mentioning any of the heart defects and other problems that affected the test pups whelped last April.
