Please retire Ellen of the Little Rock Zoo to a proper

sanctuary immediately!

 

This letter is a request for the immediate retirement

of Ellen, an elephant who has been held captive at the

Little Rock Zoo since 1954, when she was removed from

her family in the wild.

 

Since 1977, Ellen has been kept in solitary

confinement. We insist that Ellen be retired to a

proper sanctuary where she can live out the remainder

of her life with her own kind. Solitary confinement is

a cruel punishment for an animal who has done nothing

wrong except grow old.

 

We will boycott the Little Rock Zoo and encourage as

many people as possible to join us until Ellen has

been retired.
