We are asking all compassionate persons to write to NewJersey's Secretary of Agriculture asking for immediate action on thisdirective. Of particular concern is the need for implementation of aban on veal crates, gestation crates (or sow stalls), and batterycages. Please add your voice in calling for these important steps to ease the suffering of billions of farm animals.Robyn Unicorn ThunderchildCampaigns Coordinator, Farm Sanctuarythunder (508)430-8438It is critical that the New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture hearsfrom people who are concerned about protecting farm animals NOW while he is drafting the humane standards.PLEASE WRITE/FAX/EMAIL TO : Arthur R. Inhumane systems which should be banned include crates for veal calves, battery cages for egg laying hens, and sow stalls for pregnant pigs.I urge you to draft guidelines which allow farm animals freedom ofmovement, and an environment which allows them to engage in their basic natural behaviors. Thank you for your attention andconsideration of these critical animal welfare concerns. Sincerely yours, Your name, Address.-------------------- ADDITIONAL NOTES : Please also include the following additional notes to Secretary Brown while requesting the humane standards for all of the Factory farms in New Jersey : Please urge him to Enforce the "Humane Slaughter Act" and improve the old laws for all slaughterhouses in New Jersey . The current slaughterhouses all over the country mostly do not enforce the Humane Slaughter Act. (see reference # 1) Every year, millions of animals throats are cut while fully conscious, skinned alive, cut both feet off while conscious, pigs are burned alive to death..... the atrocity is endless.... Please request Secretary to set up the new STRICT and CLEAR Regulations to ENFORCE THE HUMANE SLAUGHTER ACT.
