I am writing to express my outrage concerning the third round of managed

deer hunts which began this week in Howard County. Closing off land to the

public so that hunters may freely shoot and kill wildlife is absolutely

disgusting. Please follow the example of Governor Whitman of New Jersey who

cancelled a scheduled bear hunt so that humane alternatives could be

researched. As society progresses, the brutal killing of animals is becoming

less acceptable. As representatives of the public I suggest you begin to

realize this.
