SAMPLE LETTER:

I urge you to halt plans to trap the beavers at Tysons Corner and

instead rely on effective and humane methods of beaver control. PETA,

The Humane Society of the United States, and the Fund for Animals are

currently negotiating with VDOT to develop an effective and humane

beaver-management program to resolve conflicts with beavers on Virginia

state roadways. If VDOT is willing to work with animal groups to resolve

problems involving beavers on a statewide level, Fairfax County can

cooperate with the same groups to resolve the alleged problem with one

beaver colony near Tysons Corner.

I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
