Call for Cancellation of Fur Show Retail store Singer's of Xenia in Ohio is planning to host a fur show on October 20th. The show will be selling fur coats from Leakes Furs. Please contact Mr. Nat Lobsenz at Singer's and ask him to cancel this show. Remind him that compassionate consumers won't support businesses that promote the fur industry. This is bad news for the animals who are killed for their skins, suffering castration, branding, tail-docking, and dehorning before being made into a pair of pants or a jacket simply for vanity. Overseas, animals killed for leather endure such horrors as forced marches in staggering heat for hundreds of miles without food or water, suffocation from illegal overcrowding in transport trucks, and violent beatings. Both cows and calves have chili peppers or tobacco rubbed into their eyes and their tails deliberately broken in an effort to keep them moving after they have fallen down from exhaustion, malnutrition, and dehydration. In China, dog skin is marked as " cowhide " and sold for export. Remind Rosie that every time someone buys a leather product, he or she is sentencing an animal to a lifetime of suffering. Ask Rosie to join the millions of consumers who realize that " hairless fur " is something we can do without, and encourage her to promote the many stylish and durable alternatives to leather that are so widely available. Please call or write The Rosie O¹Donnell Show, and ask that she discontinue promoting the cruel skin trade. Please send Registered mail directly to Ms. Rosie O'Donnell if you can. (This should directly go to her instead of staff opening the letter) : Ms. Rosie O'Donnell , 30 Rockefeller Plz., # 800 East New York, NY 10112-0002 Tel.: 212-506-3200 Fax: 212-506-3249 Supervising Producer: Ms. Corin Nelson, Tel: 212-506-3987 , PLEASE CALL HER. Since patient simulators are humane, more effective, and readily available, there is no excuse for using kittens as living props. Skills learned on cats cannot be applied to humans because the anatomical differences between cats and humans are too great. The advantages of non-animal ETI training have been demonstrated in the literature as well. An Annals of Emergency Medicine study detailed the high ETI success rates achieved by paramedics trained on manikins exclusively. In addition to their high performance rate, " 88 percent of the manikin-only group felt confident in their ETI skills during their first actual encounter and [felt] that their first human ETI was no different than their repetitive practices on the manikin. " Please write Hillcrest Health Center and ask that it make the compassionate choice to eliminate its use of kittens in cruel and outdated ETI training exercises.
