Dear Representative:

 

I am writing to request that you oppose HR 1142 by Rep. Young which

would require that private property owners be paid compensation when the

federal government finds that endangered species exist on their land and

therefore must be protected. This bill is a direct assault on the

Endangered Species Act (ESA) and would make the ESA unenforceable.
