Mr. Forney:

 

I am writing in reference to your decision to shoot a mountain lion that has

been spotted west of Rapid City. If people choose to live near areas which

are populated with wildlife they must understand that it is very possible

they will spot wildlife from time to time. You must plan humane solutions for

when an incident such as this happens. Killing off wildlife, who claim this

land as home, is not the answer. Your reputation, as well as the reputation

of the Department of Game, Fish and Parks, and the State of South Dakota has

been very tarnished because of this decision.
