* thank him for banning Japan from future access to fishing rights in U.S.

waters

* Although Japan is claiming that the hunt is for scientific purposes, the

U.S. government and Americans recognize it is primarily for profit

* Encourage him to impose economic sanctions on Japan if it doesn't stop

this deceptive slaughter immediately

* Encourage him to continue to offer U.S. assistance to develop a safe and

humane whale research program in Japan--one that doesn't involve killing the

whales
