Guest guest
Some thoughts on the recent fuel crisis in Britain (and indeed throughout much of western europe): 1. It would appear that the vast majority of people actually supported the blockading of the nation's fuel supplies. Even though lives were being put at risk in hospitals, and animals were left to starve, people would rather have their 2p cut in fuel prices. This was not democracy in action, it was terrorism. Why bother holding elections at all, let's just get what we want by threatening others. 2. A nation that relies almost totally on fossil fuels can be shut down in less than a week. Hopefully now we will see a diversification of the types of energy we use - the oil will all run dry within a few decades anyway - so maybe now is the time to seriously start looking for alternatives. And maybe the principal of diversification will be applied to many other areas as well, monocultures of any sort are dangerous things. 3. The greed, selfishness, narrow-mindedness, ignorance, arrogance and sheer stupidity of the people involved has made me physically sick! Andy.
