Guest guest
===== A message from the 'makahwhaling' discussion list ===== FROM WASHINGTON CITIZEN'S COASTAL ALLIANCE -- INJURED ACTIVIST EVACUATED BY HELICOPTER VIA HELICOPTER Erin Abbott taken away with serious shoulder injury The hunt continues. Even as an injured ODI activist is rushed by helicopter to a Port Angeles hospital, the Coast Guard INSISTS on allowing the hunt to continue. Videotape clearly shows a U.S. Coast Guard vessel running at great speed directly over ODI activist Erin Abbott. Ocean Defense International, the World Whale Police and the Washington Citizen's Coastal Alliance are calling for an IMMEDIATE HALT to this illegal hunt until an investigation can be launched into the shameful tactics currently being employed by the U.S. Coast Guard, whose aggression is being funded by massive amounts of taxpayer dollars. CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN, SENATOR and Governor Gary Locke, DEMANDING that they stop this hunt! You can find contact information at http://www.stopwhalekill.org Especially important: Call Rep. Jack Metcalf's office and POLITELY ask him to halt the hunt until an investigation can be launched. THANK him for his ongoing efforts on behalf of the whales. Rep. Metcalf's office: (425) 252-3188 ***** COAST GUARD: PERSONAL " HUNTING GUIDES " IN ILLEGAL HUNT ----- The Coast Guard needs to know how outraged we are over their numerous rammings of the World Whale Police vessel and running down an activist on her jet ski. You can call the Commander of the Coast Guard - Neah Bay station, Commander Coster (you may remember he received an award last year from the Makah for his help in the hunt) His phone number: (360) 645-2236 ext. 37 ***** _______________ The simple way to read all your emails at ThatWeb http://www.thatweb.com
