Guest guest
ON KOMO NOW!!!!!!!!!!! URGENT: Harpoon Thrown At Whale, Protestor Injured April 20, 2000 NEAH BAY - Makah Tribal whalers have thrown a harpoon at one of the gray whales migrating off the Northwest coast of Washington, but it's not clear if the whale was actually hit. What is clear is that an anti-whaling protestor on a JetSki-type craft was struck by a Coast Guard boat when the protestor got too close to the hunters. The Coast Guard is maintaining a 500-yard exclusion zone around the hunters who are protected by federal law. When the protestor zipped in just off the hunters' canoe, the Coast Guard boat ran over the small craft. KOMO's Tracy Vedder in Air 4 reports the protestor was taken on to the Coast Guard vessel in a stretcher. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time. ____ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
