Guest guest
Here's a link to a short story on MSNBC showing the Makah ceremonial canoe at the Neah Bay dock. Last May the canoe was towed by motorboat, accompanied by a flotilla of other boats, including protesters, the Coast Guard, helicopters, etc., to the pod. A three year old female gray whale was harpooned from the canoe and then shot several times with a 50 caliber armor piercing rifle. This was the humane part. The waters of the Olympic Marine Sanctuary turned red with the whale's lifeblood. After the mouth was sewed shut, the body was towed to the beach at Neah Bay and butchered. Thus did Washington State bring whaling back to the United States. Dian http://www.msnbc.com/local/KING/657010.asp
