Guest guest
Zine-on-an-Email April 2000 Edited by Andy Savage zineonanemail- Poem of the Month HIATUSHandel lies controversially. In jest he summons chests of gold;Applauding his own stride on holly.Moschino and Gucci around his lapels fold.Such contrast we seldom see;As a butterfly and chameleon do not match. But pretence, conversing with sugar and warm tea;Small sparks fly in a mind ready to hatch.Sometimes wonders his splendid palace above;Of what makes one in consideration due.For unto him, in a niche like a cove;Wealth the cove fills, letting in the sunset hues.Hues span not a single ray of strength; But connection spawn the birth of equations. To describe a single moment in spacial length;Nothing will satiate the motions. And unto sensibility, my mind goes decelerate; To declare understanding to the ones of darkness. They understand not the wordlessness I impregnate; And care in part for the utter starkness.Subtlety belongs to a world of one person;Assumptions understood by art of known kind. The freest border in an own contraption; The chestnut brown is the opposite of blind.Let the water guide us.Cool and of experiment free.Assumption of the simple be constructed of scree.Let the wind encircle us.Amit Kothari, February 2000 For more poems check out UniqueThings at this url: uniquethings/ Reviews Dude on a Rope, by Joeseph Rye Poetry anthology split into 8 sections dealing with the author's experiences of disappointment. On the way, he sings songs, eats loads of food, drinks booze, takes drugs and has sex (though not necessarily in that order!). It makes for an interesting insight into somebody's life. Here's a poem from the collection: 7 Days On our first date We had pineapple chunks with hot custard On our second date We had tapioca pudding with a dash of jam On our third date We had cheesecake with a digestive base On our fourth date We shared apple pie with cinnamon On our fifth date We had neopolitan ice-cream with chocolate sauce On our sixth date We had pecan pie On our seventh date We had spotted dick and cream That was the last I saw of her £4.99 from Joseph Rye, Flat 1(basement), 284 Ladbroke Grove, London, W10 5LP. Francis and I, by Joseph Rye A six track music cd this time from Joseph. He has an excellent singing voice, reminding me very much of Jim Diamond, and plays the acoustic guitar well. His songs do tend to go on a bit though! I don't know the price but the address is the same as above. ilmenau.bad.rappenau, by KDJ 11 track cd of electronic music. Website: http://www.ilmrap.de George Lee, Jr. & the Crazed Cowboys 15 hip hop country tracks available in streamed real audio at the Crazed Cowboys website. There's some real deep voiced vocals, together with a strong, toe tapping, rockabilly beat. It's a very neatly presented site that includes a lyrics page, photos, biog, gig news and plenty more besides! It's very classy and there are some inventive musical ideas explored, plus a few dead ends as well, but I particularly liked Autumn Cannibalism by Karda Estra, which despite its title is quite a lively and uplifting piece!
