Zine-on-an-Email March 2000

Edited by Andy Savage

Poem of the Month

something seriously missing

I wouldn't chooseto bea Roman,

but you can see themthereporing over their work,

checking it for all therightingredients,

pleasing their superiors with acorrect use ofmethod,

all pricks & thorns have been trimmedfor the safety and wellbeing

of the beholder.

they attend their training sessions, their auditions, and they appear

too organised.

they're often somethingelse,

perhaps teachers, or lawyers, retired, and now working into their brief hobby...

Well, I wouldn't chooseto bea Roman,

but if I had a choice, mine would beSocrates,

a dirty, stinking old manwith just enough spark to

chase away the

darkness
