Ohio Petition to Sign to Change 1875 Animal Abuse Laws

Hello All,

 

I have created a petition and placed it online. Please crosspost this to as

many lists and other organizations you belong to. I would appreciate it if

you would create a link to it on your homepage. If you want to create a

The petition is self-explanatory, but here is the first paragraph:

 

We, the undersigned, would like to express our outrage and horror at the

inhumane treatment of domestic animals in the state of Ohio. We are

addressing the state's animal cruelty laws that date back to 1875. While

other states take animal cruelty seriously, Ohio lawmakers have consistently

refused to implement a law that punishes animal abusers. The Ohio

Legislative Services Commission ranked the law last among all states in the

strength of penalties for offenders.
