Hello Green vbers My name is Lin Ish

I live in CT and I have five parrots four of them are rescues one ittle

guy I ransomed from Petco who was starving him to eath out of

ignorance!!!

Prana lasted only four mo in this world a team of vets could not save

him. Thats

why breeding quality birds is so important

if your going to breed them at all. After some investigation he was a

mill bird like the rotten puppy mills they have rotten bird mills. I

don't think that birds should be bred anymore period, unless one has a

license to do this from a hard core bird first licensue whch will be a

long time coming in this world . Anyway there are so many out there who

are bred bought impulsively and live in less than healthy

conditions now that there are more birds than home for them just like

dogs and cats. How many of you reading this ever thought a lot about the

bird pet issues???

Until the time I was given one as a birthday present a few years ago I

was a total ignorant on the subject. By the way giving birds to

ususpectig peopl however well meaning is not the way it should be done.

ie rabbits , kittens and chicks at Easter!!!

so beyond this I'mtrying to raise my envirnmental self in other areas.

From me here on this list you will be hearing about

bird emergencies where there are lttle ones in peril that nee a caring

healthy nome where they will be socialized, vet cared for and well loved

and treated.

If anyone has a bird and needs resources as your learning how to care

for her or really want a bird and have been thinking about getting one

but is not sure what being a parrot parent woud mean, let me know

privately and I will be glad to help if I can. I may be starting a

site just for this soon so either way I'll be available.

I always thought it a great cruelty that a creature meant to fly free should

be imprisoned in a cage by anyone, no matter how well meaning. Stop habitat

destruction. Refuse to purchase animals from breeders. Close down the " pet "

trade.

Green Vibrations was formed to get animal lovers and environmentally aware people together.

We welcome postings of the following: news relating to animal/environmental issues; your opinion on a particular issue; your response to postings; links - submit a link to a relevant website, including your own.
